Mrs. Delphine Frère, owner and pharmacist, shares her story…
"A little earlier than planned, an opportunity came up: a building right on the main road was for sale. Although it was originally an aging single-family home, we immediately saw the potential to create a pharmacy that truly reflected who we are. Everything had to be rethought and transformed to become a welcoming, professional space.
Naturally, we turned to PLUO, inspired by their first projects. They were the only ones who really listened to our needs and translated them right away into their proposals. I didn’t want a purely commercial-looking pharmacy, but rather a place of well-being—warm, feminine, and natural. Every element, from materials to shapes to the layout of the spaces, was carefully chosen to reflect this vision.
PLUO showed impressive responsiveness, quickly adapting the project to our expectations. Their greatest strength was efficiency, as we were working with a tight schedule. They fully delivered on their commitments, allowing us to open the pharmacy on the planned date.
The results were immediate: within the first weeks, footfall increased by around 35%. Comparing 2022 with 2024, we now see over 40% growth in turnover.
Client feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. People are proud to have, right in their village, a modern and spacious pharmacy offering more services and an expanded product range.
In just two years, our team has doubled. This growth allowed us to build a strong, supportive group, full of collective energy.
Change can be intimidating. It requires courage and personal investment, but today, I can say it was absolutely worth it. I have no regrets about taking the leap."

Pharmacie Pharmastrée - A new dimension
Pharmacie Strée left its small village street behind and moved into a space of an entirely different scale.
L’Atelier d’Architecture Philippe Lefèvre designed the complete transformation of an old house and extended it with a modern, glass-fronted annex topped by a flat roof.
The result blends authenticity with contemporary design, giving the pharmacy a larger, brighter building that stands out visibly from the road.

A light-filled patient area
The positioning of different zones was planned in close collaboration with the architect. Priority was given to the patient area, located in the glazed extension and the brightest part of the building, to create a welcoming, open reception space.
Technical functions such as storage, office, laboratory, and robot were integrated rationally to optimize the workflow of the pharmacy.
The layout was designed to be both functional and comfortable for the team, while giving patients the most spacious reception area possible.

Organic shapes in the design
To soften the rigid lines of the original house and the extension, our architect-designers imagined a more organic layout, inspired by the shape of a bean (or even a peanut!).
This flowing form appears in both the flooring and the ceiling, organizing circulation around a central island for product presentation. The result is a smooth, fluid pathway with no harsh angles—an atmosphere of softness and welcome.

A dedicated testing area
A specific space was created for product testing, equipped with a sink. This addition offers patients an extra service: the chance to try, discover, and handle products in optimal conditions, reinforcing the pharmacy’s advisory and approachable role.

Turning ideas into experience with the PLUO team
Creating a pharmacy project with us is first and foremost a meaningful human and collaborative adventure.
Every pharmacy is unique, every pharmacist has their own priorities and vision.
Our role is to transform those ideas into a tangible experience: a welcoming and comfortable space where patients want to return, where the team enjoys working every day, and a profitable project that supports the long-term success of the pharmacy.
